Sky News Arabia Just Won the Beirut Award for Humanity

Sky News Arabia has just won the Beirut Award for Humanity for the category of “Best TV Report”, which was announced by the Department of the Technical Secretariat of the Council of Arab Ministers of Information in coordination with the General Secretariat of the Arab League.

The Technical Secretariat of the Council of Arab Ministers of Information and the Lebanese Ministry of Information accepted 140 nominees for the competition, which included work presented from various Arab countries, official participation from governmental and private media outlets, as well as individual participation from Arab citizens.

The jury declaring the award winner were representatives from member states of the Executive Office of the Council of Arab Ministers of Information.

The significance of the Beirut Award for Humanity project lies in the emphasis it creates on the humanitarian solidarity of Arab countries and Lebanese citizens towards the Beirut port explosion.

The award was won by the television report prepared by Sky News Arabia entitled “Mothers of the victims of the Beirut port explosion commemorate their memory”, which was heartfeltly presented on Mother’s Day and portrayed the grief that prevailed on this occasion in Lebanon eight months after the Beirut port explosion, and the grieving mothers who lost loved ones and demanded justice in their case.

The report was prepared and presented by Salman Al-Anadari, a correspondent for Sky News Arabia in Beirut, who expressed his happiness for winning the award, while stressing on the importance of the role reporters play in the field to convey the objective picture of events.Youssef Tsuri, News Director, Sky News Arabia, said: “We are always keen on quality and the global level of what we offer viewers across our different screens and platforms, as well as the humanitarian aspect in particular because of its important role in our media message.
