Lebanese Breast Cancer Foundation: Supporting Women with Breast Cancer
Every October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, an opportunity to spread awareness about a disease that more than 2.3 million women were diagnosed with worldwide in 2020 alone.
The importance of this month lies in spreading awareness on the significance of early detection, the different symptoms a woman may have, and the myriad of campaigns to help for early screening for the cancer.
The Lebanese Breast Cancer Foundation (LBCF) is an NGO offering awareness, educational, and fundraising initiative to support women with breast cancer, and has been going strong for the past 10 years.

What is LBC’s aim?
The goal of this organization is to provide complete assistance for women diagnosed with breast cancer at aubmc. Its objectives include assisting breast cancer patients with treatment, such as radiation therapy and surgery, spreading greater knowledge and awareness about breast cancer, encouraging systematic and planned early detection programs, and funding breast cancer research projects and clinical trials.

Self-examination Video
LBCF released an educational and very touching video under the title “Khabazte?” last year, with the purpose to demonstrate and teach women how to self-examine their breasts for early signs and indications of breast cancer.
Raising Awareness
To achieve their primary aim, the foundation organizes a myriad of campaigns and events to raise awareness on breast cancer, the importance, and methods for its early detection.
Other than Khabazte, LBCF launched events such as “Warriors in pink”, “Sidon sea castle in pink”, and “Pinkstands4”.
Upcoming Event
LBCF is organizing “A walk for a cause” for the breast cancer awareness month on October 16th.
